Mr. Delaney is Of Counsel to Ambroziak Law PC. He is the founding partner of Delaney Law a boutique Corporate and Commercial Litigation firm located in the River North neighborhood, downtown Chicago. The law firm focuses its practice primarily on corporate strategy, international business and litigation. In addition to managing the firm, he advocates for a wide range of corporate and individual clients. He has been instrumental in developing and executing business strategies for corporations ranging from start up to multi-national, enterprise level entities operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Delaney was involved in – as founder, co-founder or advisor to – a number of successful start-up companies both domestically and abroad. He has lived and worked in Boca Raton, Los Angeles, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Manhattan and Hong Kong with extended stays in Europe (Dublin, Paris, Munich and most recently Madrid). Mr. Delaney originally hails from Evanston, Illinois with roots dating back to the 1930s. After travelling and living throughout the world, he chose to make Chicago his home and is active in numerous civic and community organizations including serving on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce co-founder and Chairman and of its International Business Council. He also serves on the board of the Hong Kong Business Association for the Midwest and as participant the Hong Kong | US Business Council during the 2015 Think Asia Think Hong Kong event hosted in Chicago.
Mr. Delaney received his J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law and with a Certificate in International and Comparative Law focusing on Business Transactions. In addition to his legal studies, he participated in a 1997 Syracuse University MBA program at Hong Kong University; concurrent with Britain restoring sovereign rule of Hong Kong to China during Handover.
Prior to law school, Mr. Delaney earned his Bachelors in Speech Communication with an emphasis on Radio, Television and Film with a Minor in Journalism from California State University at Northridge. For the ten year period prior to law school he held managerial roles with companies in the retail and hospitality industries. After law school he founded two companies, launched a not-for-profit theater company and has produced award winning plays.
Along with being a member of the Illinois Bar Mr. Delaney is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Federal Trial Bar and has successfully prosecuted and defended cases throughout Illinois and across the country in diverse jurisdictions such as Washington, Wisconsin, and Florida. His professional memberships include, but are not limited to: Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the DuPage County Bar Association, American Association of Justice, River North Business Association, Economic Club of Downtown Chicago, Downtown Leadership Council and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, USGLC among other organizations.
In addition to professional organizations Mr. Delaney is a leader who sits on the board or is actively involved with multiple not-for-profit organizations including G-PAC (Gun Violence Prevention), Multiple Sclerosis Society, AIDS Ride, Theater and Performing Arts Companies as well as acting as Team Captain for multiple MS Rides and Marathons running in Chicago twice; Dublin and Kona Hawaii. He also a proud supporter Chicago Public Schools, Rogers Park Montessori School and St. Ignatius Colle Prep.
